Merry Knit-mas!

So, Mark's parents took the "Julie wants knitting books!" to heart.

I ended up with Vogue Knitting (OMG, how did I ever live without this?)

The Knit Stitch and The Purl Stitch.

Hip Knits

and SnB Nation.

But no yarn. I am craving to make a million things, but I'm backlogged on my sweater and a scarf for Thom.

christmas frog!

Yep. I had to frog Tempting. A 40" was just wayyyy too big, and I kind of screwed up the ribbing, so into the pond it went. I'm going to recast on as size medium.

So far, my knitting goodie has been Stitch and Bitch Nation, but I only asked for knitting stuff from mark's family, so there will be more to update later.

Now, if only my camera weren't stranded at work...

Cast On!

I cast on my first sweater. I'm all thrilled. I am going to work on it more later-- but I keep on looking at it, and saying "Okay, is this ever going to look like a sweater?" I am just too impatient.

I'm also working on my mom's scarf-- Lion Brand Landscapes in Pink Pearl.

Apparently, I hear this RUMOR that my husband is going to make an "Adequate Knitter" logo. Woo!

I have a favourite designer.

And I didn't even know it!

Jenna Adorno, whose site is she designed both Tempting and my Ultimate OMG I want it NOW sweater, 'Candy' from SnB Nation!

She's so adorable. And, ya know, totally has great taste.

Yarn Purchased!

I changed my mind on the dusty pink-- I wanted something that wouldn't look constantly dirty.

So, for 6.90 a ball, I got Cashmerino Aran in #602, bright pink, which the Ebay seller (who is so nice and prompt, Rapunzelyarns if you're interested) describes as more of a 'deep rose'. I'm thinking a pale pink ribbon, and ta-da.

Oh, and the shipping is 3.50 for six balls. CHEEEEEP!

My First Sweater.

It will be knitty's "Tempting". Yes, yes it will.

So who wants to buy me six balls of Debbie Bliss Cashmerino? Yeah, yeah, I could substitute, but I don't want to.

No one?

I'm thinking about getting it at #613, with a black satin ribbon. What do you think?

The New Knitty

It's out. My "ooh look now I'm a blogger so I must comment!!" post.

I really like Belle Epoque. I could totally see myself wearing it. I also like Tempting, though I'm not sure my figure would work with it. I am really tired of fun fur capes, and, frankly, knit reproductive organs. And Vickie Howell is so cute I want to puke. I think knitting out of fabric would probably be toooo much effort, for me.

I am totally into the ribbon and knit look-- I love the pink and black ribbon sweater in Stitch and Bitch Nation, too. Hrm. This will help me come up with a list of yarny-knitty-stuff for Mark to get me for Christmas!

(Mark, gentle reader, if you are not aware, is my husband.)

Oooh! Looky!

I have joined the Great World of Knitting Blogs. See, Natalie, I told you I would!

Now, to knit something to show off in here.
